Each Painting will say what art material I have used.
For 20 years I've only offered acrylic paintings but this have changed and I'm now offering oil paintings.
A little background: I was introduced to oil painting at age 10 by a family friend who was an artist. He taught me to use palette knives with no brushes—hence my love for textured impasto paintings!
For decades, I thought about returning to oils but stayed busy with my art business and acrylics. Despite purchasing oils (the easy part), I’d always end up giving them away.😂This year, 2024, I finally decided to start using them—and I’m absolutely in love! ❤️
Care and Maintenance
While we strive to represent colors as accurately as possible, slight variations may occur due to differences in computer monitors and printing processes. Each piece is unique, and subtle variations are part of the charm of original artwork.
Artwork Preservation Guidelines
Cleansing and Conservation of Your Painting
For optimal preservation of your painting:
- Dust gently with a soft brush
- Remove markings carefully with a damp cloth
- Exercise caution when cleaning textured pieces, as paint may be brittle and prone to damage
Managing Your Painting
Handling
Avoid touching the surface of the artwork
- Acid from human fingers can deteriorate paint lifespan
When necessary to handle:
Grasp the interior top stretcher framing
Use a clean cloth during handling
- Avoid pressure on the cotton stretch to prevent damage
Moving and Storage
- Never place objects against the painting's surface
- When relocating:
- Handle by the edges
- Lean vertically against a stable surface, with the back bearing the weight
- Rest the bottom on cushioning material (e.g., towel or folded sheet) to protect the frame, varnish, or painting surface
- Alternative: Place flat on its back on a level surface
Displaying Your Painting
Hanging methods depend on:
- Wall type
- Canvas location
- Personal preference
Hanging Options
- Modern homes with hollow cavity walls:
- Use specific plastic screw plugs or toggle fixings
- Solid brick walls:
- Use appropriate screw plugs
Hanging Techniques
- Two screws method:
- Use the frame top as an anchor
- Supplied picture wire and hooks method
Choose the method that best suits your wall type and personal preferences to ensure the safety and proper display of your artwork.
